Terms & Conditions
Last updated: June 2026. Please read these terms carefully before booking a repair or using this website.
1. About Us
OvenRepair.uk is operated as a sole trader business providing specialist electrical repair services for domestic electric ovens, cookers, hobs and range cookers. References to "we", "us" and "our" refer to OvenRepair.uk. Our contact email is hello@ovenrepairs.co.uk.
2. Scope of Services
We carry out electrical repairs only on domestic cooking appliances, including:
- Electric ovens and fan ovens (built-in, integrated and freestanding)
- Electric cookers and double ovens
- Electric ceramic and induction hobs
- Range cookers (electrical faults only)
We do not carry out any gas work. If your appliance involves a gas supply, a gas connection or a gas component, you must contact a Gas Safe registered engineer. Attempting to repair gas appliances without Gas Safe registration is illegal and dangerous.
All repairs are carried out within approximately 20 miles of Colchester, Essex. We reserve the right to decline bookings outside our service area.
3. Booking and Appointments
Submitting a booking form or calling us constitutes a request for a repair visit, not a confirmed appointment. We will contact you to confirm a date and time. We aim to respond to all enquiries within one working day.
We reserve the right to decline any booking at our discretion, including where the fault is outside our scope of expertise or where access to the appliance is unsafe.
Please ensure reasonable access to the appliance is available at the agreed appointment time. A minimum charge may apply if we attend and are unable to access or inspect the appliance.
4. Pricing and Payment
- Standard visit fee: from £49–£99 + parts. Covers diagnosis, labour and any standard repair carried out during the visit. Final price depends on fault complexity.
- Priority or emergency visit: standard visit price + £50 surcharge, where availability allows.
- Range cookers and complex appliances: a quote will be provided before any work proceeds.
- Parts: quoted separately. We will seek your approval before ordering or fitting any part.
Payment is due on completion of the repair, unless otherwise agreed in writing. We accept cash and bank transfer. We reserve the right to charge for time and travel costs where a visit is wasted through no fault of our own.
All prices quoted are inclusive of VAT where applicable.
5. Repair Guarantee
We provide a 12-month guarantee on parts and labour for repairs carried out by us. This guarantee covers the specific fault diagnosed and repaired. It does not cover:
- Faults unrelated to the original repair
- Damage caused by misuse, accident, power surges or unauthorised interference
- Normal wear and tear of other components
- Appliances that have been moved or tampered with after the repair
To make a guarantee claim, please contact us within the 12-month period with your original repair receipt.
6. Repair vs Replace Calculator
The Repair vs Replace Calculator on this website provides a general indicative assessment based on the information you input. The score and cost estimates are based on statistical averages from Appliance IQ assessments and are not a formal repair quote. Actual repair costs will vary depending on on-site diagnosis, parts availability and appliance condition. A formal quote will be provided before any repair work begins.
7. Liability
We carry public liability insurance. Our liability to you in respect of any repair is limited to the cost of the repair or replacement of the specific faulty component, up to a maximum of the value of the repair invoice.
We are not liable for:
- Loss of food or other contents caused by an appliance fault before or after our visit
- Consequential loss, including loss of earnings or inconvenience
- Damage to cabinetry, flooring or other fixtures during appliance removal or installation, where reasonable care has been taken
- Faults or damage arising from pre-existing conditions not disclosed at the time of booking
Nothing in these terms limits our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, or for fraudulent misrepresentation.
8. Safety
Do not attempt to remove oven panels, access internal components or carry out any electrical testing yourself unless you are a qualified electrician. Electrical appliances can cause electric shock, fire or death if tampered with incorrectly. If you suspect an electrical fault, isolate the appliance at the plug or fuse board and contact us.
9. Cancellations
You may cancel or reschedule an appointment at no charge with at least 24 hours' notice. Cancellations with less than 24 hours' notice may incur a call-out charge to cover travel and time reserved.
10. Complaints
If you are not satisfied with our service, please contact us in the first instance at hello@ovenrepairs.co.uk or by phone. We aim to resolve all complaints within 5 working days. If a complaint cannot be resolved directly, you may refer the matter to a relevant alternative dispute resolution scheme.
